About Us
We support anybody with a respiratory condition, and predominantly this means those with Asthma and COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and provide professional training.
Our FREE service includes education, information and other services along with two mobile units enabling all outreach services (home visits). Monthly clinics are provided in Wairoa and Central Hawke’s Bay.

Breathe Hawke's Bay Services
Our services include:
- Workforce development Asthma & COPD – Training programmes, education, on-going mentoring and support is offered to health professionals
- Free education and support to individuals and families / whanau in clinic or home visits offered in Asthma / COPD. This includes assessment, management plans, medication and inhaler technique review, trigger management, asthma first aid. Free smoking cessation support and Quitcards for nicotine replacement therapy. On-going support is available
- Spirometry (Lung Functions Test) To aid in respiratory diagnosis for individuals or occupational Health and Safety monitoring requirements
- Monthly Breathe Easy COPD Support Group – Two individual groups meet monthly: one in Waipukurau, Central Hawke’s Bay, the other group meets in Napier / Hastings the last Wednesday of the month. Contact Breathe Hawke’s Bay for more details
- Exercise and swimming subsidies are available for adults and children. Special conditions do apply. Contact Breathe Hawke’s Bay for more details.
- Nebuliser hire or purchase (a Doctor’s referral is required) and / or accessories are available. Individuals may qualify for WINZ assistance, quotes can be given on request.
- Respiratory Newsletter – issued three times yearly, available online or hard copy (posted to members only)
- Asthma Friendly Schools Program
- Allergen bedding & products available. Individuals may qualify for WINZ assistance, quotes can be given on request
- NeilMed Sinus Rinse products
We also sell:
- Nebulisers (on doctor’s referral) and accessories – nebulisers can also be hired
- MiteGuard Allergen Barrier Bedding Covers – for protecting against dust-mite (WINZ quotes are available)
