Breathe Hawke’s Bay Centre Report – July 2018

Tēnā koutou katoa.
I hope this newsletter finds you warm and well. With the cold weather it is important to wear plenty of layers and keep your house warm.

The flu vaccine is still available at your GP practice and for most of you will be free. It is an important part of your self-management plan as is hand washing, ensuring you have a back pocket script, live in a smokefree environment, attend a regular respiratory reviews and have all current inhalers.

It is with great sadness that we have said good-bye to Respiratory Nurse Educator (RNE), Chris Davidson. Chris has been part of the team for eight years and has contributed greatly to improving the services we deliver at Breathe Hawke’s Bay. She has moved onto a new challenge in her life and we wish her all the very best. At present we are in the process of employing a new RNE so watch this space.

Looking ahead we are busy preparing for a tour of Primary Schools from Sailor the Puffer Fish and planning for this year’s Balloon Day has commenced. If you are keen to become part of a committee in the planning and preparation for Balloon Day then let Toni know at the office. This is a new initiative and we would love to hear from anyone who would like to support the breathe easy cause by helping organise events.
