Many hands make LIGHT work
As we launch into planning for another Balloon Day we reflect on the contributions that volunteers make to our organisation. Being collectors, preparing our newsletters and delivering, representing BHB at events, medical advisors,, board members, additional administrators and so forth; all help make a difference in the lives of those that we are here to support - people in Hawke’s Bay with respiratory conditions . Your time and skills are greatly appreciated.
We value the relationships we have with organisations like Volunteering Hawke’s Bay who refer willing volunteers to us. Another key relationship that we have been building over the past few years is with local tertiary provider Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT). In the last 12 months we have worked with groups and individuals from three differently faculties; Sport and Recreation, Nursing and Business Studies.
This year we have welcomed Ishita Beniwal who is currently completing a Bachelor of Business Studies, majoring in Marketing. Ishita is the second student we have had from this course and she has been busy developing and executing our consumer satisfaction survey as well as establishing something similar for our staff and board. Systems like this help us to measure the effectiveness of our services and influence our future planning.
